Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy (SRMT) deals directly with the soft tissues of the body. Treating muscles and the connective tissues of the body sports massage aims to improve their functional state.
SRMT utilises techniques such as Muscle Energy Technique (MET), Soft Tissue Release (STR) and Neuromuscular Technique (NMT), Myofascial Release (MFR) and incorporates them with general deep massage techniques to alter the state of the soft tissue.
Regular treatments can help to establish an efficient recovery process after training and competitions as well as improving the bodies postural functionality for everyday life. The removal of waste products such as lactic acid and scar tissue created during exercise and daily habits can help increase the rate of recovery as well as providing fresh nutrients to energise you for your next session.
SRMT can help:
- Decrease pain levels
- Tension head aches
- Reduce stiffness
- Sports performance
- Flexibility
- Stress relief
- Posture
- Knotted muscles
- Injury/Training recovery
